Four months already!!

April 20, 2007

So Jack is four months old already. We just can't believe it. It seems like yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital. He has changed so much. There is something different every day. Jack now loves his toes. I don't blame him, I do too. Whether it's him playing with them or you playing with them, he loves it. I'm glad it's getting warm outside so he doesn't have to wear socks all the time. His fingers...in his mouth all of the time. He even gets a hold of Jonathan's fingers a lot and promptly places them in his mouth. He doesn't do that with mine. The only thing I can figure is that I use a lot of hand sanitizer and it probably doesn't taste so good. Toys...whatever can fit into his mouth. Surely we will see a tooth soon. We have lots of drool and have lots of spit bubble wars, he loves that. He always wins.

Jack can roll onto his side. He's only made it to his belly a couple of times. I'm not sure if that's purposeful or not because he doesn't like to be on his belly. He's usually in a different position in his crib in the mornings than the one I laid him down in. He wants to be sitting up most of the time. He has a pod chair so that he can sit up by himself. It's little so we can take it anywhere.
He's also starting to splash around in the tub a lot.

We started Jack on some baby food. So far the favorites are squash, peas and oatmeal with bananas. He's not a fan of rice. He cried and cried like I put poop in his mouth. He wouldn't swallow it the first time. I had to get it out of his mouth.

He also loves for me to sing to him. I have no idea why because I can't sing, at all. Maybe it is because I act so goofy when it is just him and me. Among his favorites are Winnie the Pooh and that "1, 2, 3, 4 Come on baby say you love me" song. He also loves it when we play head, shoulders, knees and toes. He smiles a lot and laughs sometimes. He babbles too, making occasional sounds that sound like a syllable. So now there is a war between Jonathan and myself. The "mama" and "dada" war. I'll be sure to let you know who wins that one.

He's finally fitting into his 3 month clothing and we went to stage 2 diapers. That diaper transition made me kind of sad. But I love to watch him grow. He's just beautiful to me.
